Several fire departments were summoned to a fire in a Media carper story Friday morning.
Fire crews were called for a report of an electric burning smell around 11 a.m., according to RochesterFirst.com.
Firefighters rescued an occupant from the second floor of the downtown building, OrleansHub.com reported.
“It was a heavy, putrid smoke so they could tell it was a problem right away,” Medina Fire Lt. Steve Cooley told OrleansHub.
As fire spread through the building, five ladder trucks were set up to extinguish the blaze.
Water was drafted from a nearby canal and lake, in addition to several hydrants.
